The Parish of St John’s was formed in 1865. The church building was completed in 1866 and an extension put in place in 1875. There was a fire in 1998 but the Parish rallied round and the church was re-built in 1999. Some of the burnt timbers were retained to make the Cross that now sits on the east wall. St John’s Church also retains two of the original Presbyterian ‘Cloud Windows’.
