Clarks MillJust before Maheno, 20 minutes south of Oamaru on SH1 is Clark’s Mill. It is the only water powered flour mill in the country with equipment surviving the modern era. The four storied Mill was built in 1866-67 by the then owners of nearby Totara Estate. After 1901 it was run by the Clark family who updated some of the machinery and later converted the mill to electricity. It is now owned by the Historic Places Trust. Opening Hours: October - April Other Times and Mill running demonstrations by prior arrangement.
